Skokie Park District

liQuidprint was given the task to build a website for the citizens of Skokie Park District that is completely usable, functional, and easy to navigate.

Government websites are outdated, right?  Well, not the Skokie Park District website outside of Chicago, IL.  The park district sought out to build a website which could easily and quickly share pertinent information to its users.  liQuidprint jumped in by establishing the plethora of content needed to be shared.

Site structure was important.  As you can imagine the park district has several parks, schedules and programs, and other recreational activities to be posted.  Therefore it was imperative each of these events and locations were listed right in the forefront.  liQuidprint decided to  implement an accordian style slideshow to show all the upcoming events which is easily editable using their Umbraco content management system.

The city is quite diverse with several languages spoken as a first language, so it would be nearly impossible to accommodate all of them.  It was decided the site needed to be written and designed in a way each of these users could understand.   The site couldn't be too busy or cluttered, instead to meet their goal the site was designed to make the navigation and layout as usable as possible.

Today, the kids, parents, and seniors of Skokie Park District are enjoying an updated government website which is easy to view and gather the information they sought after.  Visit their site at
