Social Media Negativity Preparedness
Social media criticism happens. You can never fully be prepared for negative responses, but there are some precautions and safeguards to help your company out (check out our blog on handling negative responses from social media). Marketing Charts reported on a recent study that surveyed companies on their preparedness for social media negativity. 20% said they were completely unprepared while "72% rated their preparedness as average or below."
What was even more interesting was the article's information about social media as a customer engagement tool of the future. It is reported that 73% of all social media users think that companies mainly use social networking platforms to advertise their brands. This isn't appreciated, and so, companies must engage more - something we're always saying!
