Does Pinterest Lead to Sales?
Most are well aware of Pinterest's huge popularity this year in the social networking world. However, besides driving a lot of traffic and interest to other websites, has Pinterest really contributed to more tangible results? According to a March survey conducted by Bizrate Insights, social image-sharing sites, like Pinterest, are influencing consumers to make actual purchases.
The results of the report showed that 32% of online, American shoppers have made purchases after looking at an image on a site such as Pinterest. This included 26% that were able to click to the retailer's site directly from the image itself. 6% had to dig around for the retailer webpage themselves. There are also results that pertain to social image users who liked what they saw but did not make a purchase because they either weren't in a "shopper's mindset" or couldn't find the retailer's site. It seems that retailers and brand marketers should really reach out to these social image-sharing platforms because they are warranting great results. Make sure to monitor your content by providing images that lead your audiences directly to your products.
