Connecting Videos, Blogs, and E-Mails for More Site Traffic

Companies are coming around to growing trend of promoting their product and brand through social media networks but many are finding it difficult to produce large numbers with results. Owning and creating Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn pages are great but is the company taking the right steps to target their desired audience? By simply changing the order and timing of social media strategies, companies have the opportunity to increase both traffic to their website as well as company social network pages. There are 7 steps to be followed in this process. These steps all pertain to the connections between company videos, blogs, and e-mails.

    Prepare all the information:

    Step 1: Create the Video
If your company uses video content as an added bonus to the company website and social network pages, create a video that catches the eye and attention of the desired audience. Throughout the video, use keywords that pertain to the title of the video. This way, you are constantly reminding the viewer of why they are watching the video content and providing answers to their inquiries. Once the video is completed and meets the requirements of a well-developed video, you're ready for the next step.  Do not upload the video just yet, instead wait to upload it until the first 3 steps of effectively pushing media content are complete.

Step 2: Blog About the Video
Just pushing out video content on the Internet won't produce the high ranking results the company is aiming for. Backing up the video with a blog entry brings a bigger audience to the information the company is sending out. The blog should be around 500-1500 words and should contain the same keywords used throughout the video. This helps search engines like Google and Bing identify that the information being sent to their search engine is truly about the content provided from the title. If the company adds both the blog and video to the search engines with the same keywords, it boosts the possibilities of the pieces being ranked higher than others and appearing on the first 5 pages of the search results. Again, hold off on uploading the blog until all initial steps are complete for effective results.

    Step 3: Compose an E-Mail
Subscribers to the company website want more information from the company, why not provide it for them? Compose an e-mail informing subscribers of the upcoming video and blog postings. This prepares subscribers to take part in viewing both pieces. Make sure the e-mail sent out is set for an appropriate viewable time frame. For instance, if some subscribers are from other companies, send their e-mails out around company work hours like 7-9am, 11-1pm, and 3-5pm. Workers typically open and read emails in these time frames. For other subscribers who are mainly at home reading e-mails, send theirs between the hours of 4-9pm. By following these time frames, the company has a much higher chance of receiving feedback and positive results from their video and blog posts. Mentioned in the previous steps, hold off with sending the e-mails until all initial steps are completed.

Send out all of the information:

    Step 4: Upload the Video
Once you've setup everything to be released it's time for the release.  Upload the video to YouTube. Make sure the title of the video contains keywords used throughout the video. In the description of the video, provide a link to the blog that talks more about the topic of the video. This provides more searches and traffic to both the video and the blog.

Step 5: Post the Blog (With Picture)
Great! The video is finally uploaded with a link pointing to the blog post. Use the same keywords used throughout the video also throughout the blog piece, even within the subject line. Embed a link to the YouTube video in the blog to make it easier for viewers to watch the video. Then every time the video is viewed on your website it counts towards your YouTube tally, thus ranking your video higher than others.  Don't forget to add a picture to the blog. The eye is attracted to graphics and makes the piece seem more inviting.

    Step 6: Send Out E-mail
Now that all of the information is on the Internet, it is okay to send the e-mail directing subscribers and others to view the content. Remember to follow the time frames provided for both company and home viewing audiences to get more effective results.

Step 7: Promote Through Social Media Pages
The final step includes utilizing the company's Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media pages and accounts. Compose status, tweets, etc. to promote the video and blog to all of the company's followers and friends. This sends the blog and video out to more people and also provides more traffic to the company site and it's content.

    Reap the Benefits:

Accurately following these 7 steps, the company's website will have increased site traffic as well as improved SEO (Search Engine Optimization) rankings. Facebook Likes, Google +1's, Re-tweets, Shares, etc. will be generated more frequently due to the added connection between the company's marketing strategies and their more close-knit connections with social media sites. E-mailing individuals at convenient times for them, will not only produce the results above what you were already receiving but it provides the opportunity for others to share the information with individuals who may not have been on your e-mail list, opening up the company's viewers even more.Taking into consideration the time frames to send out blogs, videos, and e-mails will result in adding value to blog postings but also, through YouTube, when your video is immediately watched after it's uploaded, it ranks higher on the site, it's recommended to more people, and ultimately drives viewers back to the company website. Giving your viewers what they want, at a proper time for them to view it, adds more recognition and feedback for the materials produced by the company. These 7 steps can result in increased sales of products and more activity and interaction between the consumer and company.
